Can you play empire total war offline

I love Steam, its one of the greatest things to happen to PC Gaming in the last several years. Just set it to Offline mode and you should be fine, its likely trying to dl a patch or authenticate the purchase online, and that's where its hitting the issue. I was having some trouble downloading the game yesterday, had to try it a couple times, but after a couple minutes the download started fine.

And I'm not going to complain about the average of 1. Need to install all kind of useless crap that you don't even need, just for the "security".. Steam is fine as far as DRM goes. I like that it is activated over Steam, but was surprised that it launches via Steam as well. But if you think about it, for managing legal copies and automatic patching, Steam is great, so I think it was a good call and a sign of things to come that CA used them in this manner.

March 06, , AM 7. I'll be looking into this as well, I don't have my copy yet , but you might have to apply one of the pirate steam workarounds not illegal because you own the game. I'll check around the internet and get back to you guys as I am in the same boat or will be.
