You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. I used the plastic insert out of a stainless stell travel mug. It worked amazinly well. The problem was there was some kind of swirl marks. Any suggestions, was it too fast, speed wise.

You may have been just below the power needed and the thick areas did not transfer enough heat. Even using a spray, I remember getting patterns with the power too low on stainless. Use something round that fits inside the mug that will allow you to extend the mug away from the wheels. I have found all sorts of items around my shop work for extenders.

It could be a glass, a tube, PVC pipe, Paper roll, a wide roll of tape - etc. Think outside the box when it comes to jigging up for those tough projects. It needs to fit snugly or you will find it will move around and you will lose focus.
