Tell 'em DirtRider. Net sent ya! Compare to the Competition A competitive product. Competitive product, top view Chain interference. This seemed like the de-facto standard for add-on kickstands so I figured I was good to go. Once I bolted it up it became apparent that precious little thought went into the design of this generic POS.
The generic kickstand stuck out too far and gets in the way of my feet, the return spring was exposed and posed a crash hazard, and worst of all the design of the swingarm clamp pretty much guaranteed that the chain would hit it, making a ton of racket and trashing the chain in the process. I ran it this way for a while but the poor design drove me nuts and I eventually resigned myself to the fact this was NOT the solution. Pro Moto Billet designed and built a super clean CNC machined internally sprung billet aluminum kickstand.
No BS drilling holes, welding tabs or kludging to make it work. They not only vary in quality but also in design. The Kick-It has several unique design features, such as being internally sprung, tucking in behind the side panel, and being made from aluminum. In fact, the only thing this kickstand has in common with others on the market is it mounts in the more desireable location behind the footpeg.
A CRFX model is under development. Hardware Included: Everything necessary for installation Installation: Very simple. The other significant difference in design is the why it tucks in behind the side panel when it's in the up position. In this poistion, the chance this kickstand will accidentally deploy or get snagged while riding is approximately…zero.
This is not only a safety feature but it also means it's barely noticeable when in the up position. You can easily run this stealthy kickstand at the track and not be mistaken for a X or worry about it creating a hazard. Beyond the incredible design, the materials and workmanship are outstanding.
The spring provides excellent tension to hold the kickstand in place. The foot of the kickstand is welded on all four sides. The mounting base is beefy and provides a great foundation for the internal spring and kickstand arm.
There are two bolts that mount this bracket to the frame. Remove these bolts and the bracket to mount the kickstand behind the bracket. Before you start you might want to have a replacement cotter pin available. The stock pin is pretty soft and is prone to break during reinstallation. Obviously, losing a peg while riding could be a very dangerous situation. Also, make sure you replace the cotter pin to ensure the peg will stay put. Installation Pictures. The Pro Moto Billet Kickstand is the standard by which all kickstands should be measured.
